Engineered laminated timber, whether it’s Redwood, Sapele or Oak, is used as standard within our range due to its superior quality in key factors apposed to redwood, sapele or oak in its solid state. Laminated timber is generally made up of a three part construction with opposing grains making the stress factor seven times greater and 30% more stable than solid wood, thus defending against twists and warps as temperature and humidity change.
Not only does this aid the manufacture process it also helps the environment. Engineered timber will incorporate much more of the log which reduces waste. Timber in general has become much more environmentally manageable in recent times with European forest areas growing by 30% in the last 10 years. The production and disposal of PVCu windows involves no less than 6 out of the 15 most hazardous chemicals listed by European governments. Timber has none.

Windows have developed dramatically over the last 20-30 years, more recently the transformation of the timber window. Taking proven systems incorporating capillary grooves etc. our timber windows have now evolved using the same engineering skills found in aluminium and PVCu windows whilst keeping the visual beauty of timber.
All our windows and doors will incorporate the relevant glass for the project in hand. Commonly we will use a 28mm thick (4-20-4) ‘K’ coated double glazed sealed unit adhering to all recent U value legislation. Toughened, obscure, argon filled, leaded and security units are available if desired.

All our windows will come fitted as standard with Maco RAIL espagnolette locks. This system has been designed to prohibit any would be burglars from gaining entry. Mushroom bolts strategically placed within the window rebate engage a striker plate when locked, thus disabling movement up and down, eliminating the possibility of the sash being forced out of the frame. The espagnolette lock will also spread any pressure evenly through the window so there will be no vulnerable areas. The amount of locking points is determined upon the window size.
Securistyle hinges compliment the window’s security and diversity from as simple as a standard opening window to a child restricted emergency exit with easy clean slide movement. We will take into consideration your needs and apply the correct ironmongery.

All our windows and doors will leave our premises completely finished. Everything such as glass, locks, handles, hinges will be fitted and tested. What makes Olympus windows truly stand out against the rest is the magnificent finished product. Olympus’ background consists of years of experience in the shopfitting/display/interior furniture industry. We take our enthusiasm of a finished piece of furniture to our windows and it shows in the finished item; to us our window is a piece of furniture “why look through your window; when you can look at it”!
Every door and window will be preserved using an NHBC approved wood treatment, one primer base coat and two Microporous top coats (various colours available) allowing the timber to breathe and protect against the elements
